Are You a Bonker Mom

Let’s be honest…motherhood is NOT easy. Numerous posts all over social media are filled with beautiful fit mommies posing with their clean and well dressed kids hugging and loving each other. This is so not true…well not all of the time.

I always imagine that seconds before the “perfect photo” was taken, little Peter was picking his nose again and smearing it on mom’s very fancy (borrowed) blouse. On the way to the photoshoot in the car one of the kids, or even maybe the mom, had a bit of a meltdown and someone was shouting at someone to stop what they were doing. That sounds more real right?

Weither you are a small business owner at home/housewife/full time working mom with a toddler/baby/both, there are challenges. There are some days that you honestly feel you have your ducks in a row and everything runs so smooth. Until you forgot that Peter only drinks from the orange cup, and Jake sat on his brother’s head and you have wet laundry in the washer. You haven’t washed your hair in 5 days and you still have to bite off 3 acrylic nails to match the other 7 broken ones before you go to school so other moms won’t judge you.

It’s hard, and you keep reading Pinterest quotes about how awesome motherhood is and how kids are only small for a while and blah blah blah. All you really want is a long hot bath with candles, a glass of wine and SILENCE! When you get out, all kids have to be in bed with tidy rooms and no toys in your bed or midnight visitors to your room. Is it too much to ask?

I’m not gonna tell you you’re a great mom or give advice on how to cope because I am also Bonkers and figuring things out for mysef. What I am gonna tell you is that you are not alone.

Bonker moms are the coolest moms. We try. We Google stuff, we Pin stuff and we make (useless) lists of new ideas to be better. We love our kids endlessly and we sacrafice our own needs to keep our kids happy. Bonker moms are sometimes a little crazy. We have days where we are quiet and serious moms, and other days we are loud and silly and run around the house with waterguns protecting our bases. Bonker moms have fun with their kids, they loose their temper and sometimes talk a little louder that what is expected. Bonker moms are normal…right?

I am the small business owner at home mom. My business involves printing custom clothing so I made a few shirts to relate with the proudest part of me…motherhood.
